Midgard Classes:

Berserker: Berserkers are able to channel their immense battle rage to become fearsome warriors.

Healer: Healers are adept at mesmerizing foes and healing their realmmates.

Hunter: Rogues who are adept at tracking as well using the composite bow and spear.

Runemaster: Spellcasters that create magical runes of great power that damage their enemies.

Shadowblade: Shadowblades combine stealth with illusionary magic.

Shaman: Shaman learn healing arts as well as those of poison and damage.

Skald: Skalds learn to sing songs to exhort their realmmates on in battle.

Spiritmaster: Mystics are able to summon the dead spirits of Norse warriors who did not die in battle, and who are eager to come back and die a glorious death for Midgard.

Thane: Thanes are adept at weapon-wielding as well as weather (especially lightning spells).

Warrior: The Warrior is fighting men or woman who uses the force of arms to overcome their enemies.

Hibernia Classes:


Bard: Straight from Celtic lore, the Bard is an important combination of Druid and performer -- able to defend his friends with a blade, as well as encourage and embolden them with his songs of glory and valor

Blademaster: The light fighter of Hibernia. Specializes in fast attacks and offensive combat styles -- but wears lighter armors.

Champion: A combination of fighter and mage, the Champion augments his combat skills with spellcasting that weaken his opponents.

Druid: A spellcaster who gets his spells from the natural power of Hibernia. The Druid is the primary healing and buffing class in the Realm. He can also charm animals and command them to do his bidding.

Eldritch: Specializing in destructive and powerful magic, the Eldritch is perhaps the most dangerous spellcaster in the game. His spells deal with the most primal forces of nature. Elves and Lurikeen from the Way of Magic channel the power of this class.

Enchanter: The Hibernian mage who specializes in the creation and control of magical creatures that he can then command to do his bidding. The Enchanter also has some offensive damage-over-time spells and utility spells.

Hero: The basic fighter of Hibernia, who can use all weapons and armor. While they do not have the same flash and style as their more magical brethren, it is a simple fact that every caster needs a Hero

Mentalist: This class uses the power within the mind to both attack and seize the minds of other creatures.

Nightshade: The Nightshade is a spellcaster/rogue who specializes in hiding/sneaking spell. He can also fight when cornered, although not as well as other Hibernian combat classes.

Ranger: The best bow user in the realm, the dual-wielding Ranger has plenty of style. All residents of Hibernia may aspire to protect their land as a Ranger.

Warden: A fighting class Wardens can fight very well using a variety of armor and weapons, as well as receive druidic spells to aid themselves as well as their realmmates.

The whole concept of this game now is to become powerful so you can attack and defend against other realms. Each realm has keeps that players can obtain and defend. Each realm also has 2 relic keeps which contain relics that make their respective realm stronger. The object is to engage in war with another realm and steal the relics to make them weaker and you stronger.

This is a blast it is by far better than EQ's pvp system. In fact I like this game more than EQ (played EQ for 3 years). The only thing that I like better about EQ is twinking, power leveling, item status. In DAoC most people have the same gear for there trespective level and also a level 1 might wear something that looks like lvl 50 gear and you cant tell do to the game having no inspections. This just makes it hard to be really established.

I will say tho that DAoC has a bigger sense of community though, it is a lot more tight-knit than EQ. I have made more friends and become closer to them in DAoc over 6months or so than 3 years in EQ.

Well i have rambled enough. I would like to hear other comments on the game and I will answer any questions that you all have.

I would have to agree with you on most accounts picasso,though i also agree with the whole it gets pointless when people steal relics at 4 in the morning so you steal them back through some heated battle and in turn...........poof they steal them at 4 in the morning when no ones on....though i think you were the one that said that...oh well

P.S.i think i might start EQ back up till FF11

only thing i didnt like about DAoc when i played it is that its not as fast paced as EQ. and the relic thing at 4 in the morning is pretty stupid. and gives the team the advantage still while makin the team with lives a disadvantage. i played EQ for 3 years and recently quit. played since may 11th 1999. made my cleric up to 60th lvl and made some GREAT friends. thats what keeps EQ alive today. EQ = the devil! their countless expantions and time consuming gaming. i suggest u keep away. that is unless someone would want to buy a 60 cleric on Rodcet nife with almost full templar =)

Daoc is quality, I started Daoc when I quit UO (multiple reasons), and have an eld, ment, champ & bard on hibernia, excaliber. Its rockin atm, I didn't know there where any daoc players on TA,
