Here's a clip of Tiesto this past saturday (4/28/07) out in Cali. I decided I wanted to record a track other than the typical hits he spun like 'Traffic', but it seemed like everything he played that we haven't already heard 20 times kinda fell flat. I figured in an hour long set he would've really delivered non-stop energy. In any case the crowd was massive and the lights/lasers were nice as well, but I ended up cutting out early.
*shrugs* . Beautiful sounding track... just didn't do it for me though.
By comparison, here was PvD on sunday (4/29/07) at the same venue.
I tried recording lots of the other tracks Tiesto spun btw, at various times during his set, but none of the tracks were exciting enough to keep on my memory card.

Then Swamper and his entourage of 30, who were all wearing TA monogramed Rolexes, left the room and flew to Hawaii for a few hours because Del wanted fresh coconut.
To his defense, Trump didn't even really look like a bum.

What's the point of having a show on Thursday. No one is gonna go. $50 is steep.

shruggs, more room to dance...less of an 'undesirable' crowd. ppl may go cuz of that...friday is going to be the UNBEARABLY PACKED one methinks
$50 IS steep tho, that ill agree with

Hm... you are not correct on the details. I was there too so i can't rely on what you are saying. Tiesto played on the Main stage right after RHCP and attracted the biggest crowd ( though i expected all RHCP fans would leave right after, but it got even more intense), while PvD spun in Sahara tent that was located in the very end of the Polo Club field. This tent was almost impossible to find. Not only he wasnt closing the night, he wasn't even allowed to play an opening to Infected Mushroom.
I'm not commenting on what both of them played and how they did it, but by intensity of crowd and extra effects, Tiesto show was BY FAR better than van Dyk's.
Here is a video. I was right by the stage so my mic was deaf to music And the song is "Everything" I wanted Jes to sing it for my camera but she got shy
But in general i liked Coachella way better than WMC. It was just an awesome experience!

True Thursday will be less crowded but who can go? Everyone I know has to be at work in the morning. Hammerstein Ballroom holds 2,500 people.
I'm on the fence. I thought his set @ Crobar Dec 05 was boring and then I went again May 2006 which was better but not something to write home about it.

nice vid. i didn't know you were heading down for this as well.
idk. maybe my ability to judge has been altered due to the fact that my taste in music has shifted so far from trance, but during the time that i was around, other than tiesto's usual hits, a lot of his tracks didn't seem to go anywhere. in the clip that i posted there was nice long build up, but the climax fell short. but again, i only stayed for the first half of tiesto's set, and i caught the last half of pvd's set.
i was just about equally as apathetic towards both of their track choices, but i felt like what i heard from pvd was a bit less droning. maybe i should've just stayed for the rest of tiesto's set. glad you had fun. i sure did!
the time i met you was at a tiesto set here in nyc that i really loved. hopefully he'll rip it up here in july

hahahah i drifted away from EDM just as far as i could get. That's why i liked Coachella so much. It was just a new crowd, very fresh and very different. Plus i was so looking forward to hearing some new bands and music.
