aite so heres my full review
got there around 11 i saw engimat and he skipped the line with me
we were on the same spot on the line for 30 min no moving wat so ever
and every big booty girl and rico suave guy was goin to the front and gettin right in and i asked the bouncers wats that all about he told me "dont worry about it" real dickhead
me and tom get to the front and we were both wearin sneakers and the bouncer at first looked at us and then asked one of the door guys if we can get in with them the guy looked at us and said yea what the hell
we get in the room was dead
by 12:30 mike came in with his crew and was chillin out and chatting and signing stuff and gettin to know his fans
he came on at about 1 started off very proggy house droped a few nice vocals along the way but then by 2 he was on and dident stop
his set was just like what he plays on his shows very proggy with tech and trancey elements to it
very very very good intimate set no uplifting stuff just straigh up bangers sort of like a markus shulz style when he was here in feb
now heres for the crazy part of the night i was speakin to mike and i post on his forum and i was talkin to him about his son and he was like hes good and then out of no where he goes "your ay star from my forum right?" i was like ummmmmm yea how the hell did you know he never even seen a pic of me and he goes "your like the only fan from nyc on my forum and plus i can tell who my real fans are wink wink" lol
that was just a crazy moment i will never forget
to me meeting him is like your parents meeting the beatles or their fav group when they were growing up and just gettin to talk and know them for the night very chill
over all his set was great 10 times better then his last one here in nyc more of a flow and good opening and closeing set by eco i was really feelin the closeing part
as for t-ny place is done for i dont really get why they booked the event there its more known as a hip hop club, it should have been at love or cielo where more edm heads would be present
good seeing enigmat,molly and company
gmoney, gabe,dj eco (thanks for the depeche mode id)
and colabri you fukin nut you lol
and for the funniest moments of the night: i was up in the booth and these 2 girls come up to me and ask me "tell the dj to put on that song satisfaction by benny bennasi" i was like ummm that track is like 5 years old he dont have it, but the girl wouldent give up she was still demanding he play it so i go "ok what part about he dont have it dont you understand, if you wanna hear that shitty ass song go turn on ktu" lol
and then at the end of the night above the dj booth i dunno who saw this but there was some girl blowing some kid right out in the open for like 5 min and the whole crowd was lookin and laughing
so when she was done everyone was clappin and she felt like the biggest skank lol
so like 10 min later i go to get my coat and i see the girl, like the pig that iam i asked her if she spits or swallows? lol
lets just say her response wassent pretty ha ha
over all regardless of the weak turn out and drama at the club it was still a very good night

agree with you 100% on t-ny.. with the april 13th party, i think we did well enough crowd-wise, that if there werent any staff problems, edm heads might have said (like molly), "lets take this place over", but that wasnt the case obviously... as for cielo and all the other great nyc clubs, we're not made event, so it's all about trial and error with new venues, ideas and concepts... before any club becomes a great club, it takes experimentation by promoters like us... the tunnel wasnt legendary until certain promoters took a huge risk in doing something there... so we will be trying new venues (and soon bringing back certain favorites from the past, wink wink) in hopes to find our "spot"... we can only hope we find our "spot" as quickly as possible to establish it with enough cred as a competitive edm venue, so now that t-ny is in the past, forever, i hope you and yours will support what i have in store in the future... granted, THIS wasn't my party, but being that my april 13 was at t-ny too, i felt the need to explain

Keep working on it... there are plenty of little places in midtown that are dead on a Friday night and are great places to try and throw down an event... People are always looking to try out new places they've never heard of it... Trying to get something going in midtown is worth the effort...
If you throw a party at Love or Cielo (assuming you have the capital), you'll lose the intimacy and the overall vibe

I don't even know where and how to start this post.
We selected T-NY as the venue cause we saw the potential that the floor carried with it to be a great EDM venue. What we did not know however that how "ghetto" that place was, not just with the patrons that it attracted but even the STAFF. This is completely our fault as we did not research enough into this club prior to booking it. The Talla/Funabashi gig on 4/13 was an indication enough to me that we had comitted a HUGE MISTAKE. EVERYONE that came for that gig went back home with a "not-so-positive" view of the club, given to all the shite that went down that night which most of you are well aware off. Ridiculous.
We had great plans to setup the deco at the place and try and turn it into a better experience but after 4/13 it just did not seem worth it, rightly so. Yesterday's event was nothin short of an insult. From the start of the event, it was difficult for me even to get all my crew in the venue. It soon dawned upon us that we were nothing else for the club but just another of those ghetto promoters who stand outside with the guest-list, just that I had dropped quite a lot of $$$$ into it. These guys just don't know how to run a clubnight and what "booking" a venue actually means. I remember what the manager of the venue once asked me, "Why drop $$$$ for a DJ and get 300-500 people when we just spend $250 for a DJ and get 1000 people and run the entire night." That itself should have been an indication to get the efff out of that place. Commerical, Non EDM and ones who don't understand nothing about the Dance Music culture.
Off the first hour (10:30 - 11:30) that I myself spent outside the venue with the guest-list in my hand, I saw few of our guests change their mind and go back cause of the ridicule that was the door. So many of them were denied entrance that it's just sad. When someone books a venue, it's suppossed to be THEIR venue, they control the door and everything, except for the bar and the bouncers (depending on the contract really). While we knew couple of venues that offer such a contract, its just beyond my belief how we still went ahead with T. MANY of our guests were turned away cause the way they dressed. The $$ of ALL of our guests who were "Walk-in's" went to the club and not us, cause as it happens the guests are suppossed to know the name of the guest list or HAVE to be on one in order to be counted as OUR guests. WHAT? We were made to be just another promoter for that night, PERIOD.
We made a mistake in the selection of the venue, should have stuck to the well known EDM venue's or atleast the ones who understand what "booking a venue" means.
M.I.K.E: While I did not get to hear his set at all except towards the end, I was really feeling it. After the event we took a walk outside for a while talking stuff in general and how he still enjoyed the night a lot and what counted was that those who were on the floor really enjoyed themselves. Great DJ, Greater Person, Legend. RESPECT.
Brad: Bro, you have MAD skillz. It was just amazing the shit that you were doing while spinning everyone who witnessed you spin on the booth were absolutely amazed. Your mixes were all FLAWLESS.
Marcello: It was nice to have you spin for us. Wish you all the luck.
I personally apologise to each one of you for this show. This is not at all how I wanted to launch "Submerge" in NYC. Having done Ferry Corsten, Digger, J00f, Skazi, Infected etc. and having supported events where we had PvD and Sasha spin in our home country (INDIA), this was just embarassing to say the least.
Cheers,
Sumit A.
