Nothing to be afraid of. It is just a shelf cloud associated with a thunderstorm. It is typically found out ahead of an advancing thunderstorm with an associated gust front.

Tornado's, hail and the likes never come from this. Just a gust of cold air(sometimes strong). The fun stuff comes later.

It's the eerie colour that freaks me out the most I think. The storms we get here in Brisbane (when we used to get storms, that is ) never have that sort of intense glow to them. Occasionally they'll have a greenish tinge to them when there's hail happening, but damn, not like that.

I miss "The More You Knows." What happened to them? They were teaching terrible parents how to be good parents, and how to keep their kids off drugs. How does funding for something like that get cut?
