would suit the category descriptions better, maybe?
Good point, I'll change them later on.

i believe there is a site called www.chilloutaddict .com moderated by Kopi Luwak.. but yeah the contest is being run here and not there

Why not? This place hasn't been trance exclusive in a long, long time.

I know that, but on my first post I stated that all dance styles are welcome.
As this is a dance orientated forum, I think that to ask for an EDM remix for this contest is reasonable enough.
Just my opinion though, but if there's enough requests to do chillout then fair enough.
Note that I never actually said no Chillout remixes allowed though, but if you allow Chillout, then where do you stop with other genres?

Why should you stop with anything, really? Good music is good music, no matter what genre it is.
I remember when I judged one remix comp - it was pure agony because every single remix sounded exactly the same. It would had been nice to have just one mix that was different. Seeing how this is an EDM forum after all the majority of tracks will be EDM anyway, so I wouldn't think allowing all kinds of styles would bring in hordes of country & western remixes
(Note: I'm not saying this because I want to do a really obscure mix - I most likely won't... I just want to give everyone a chance)

Well I've only been on this website since 2004, so I only knew of one TA remix contest, the previous one. Therefore I'm not sure what the previous 'rules' were regarding remixes, that's why I copied from the 'rules' from the last contest.
Anyway, I'd hate to deprive people from doing their speedcore and Austrian Waltz remixes, so I'll maybe if we let it be more open this year

Stick to EDM, for those who don't like it, tough luck, make your own competition. Respect to RickyM for doing this!
