well isn't that the darndest thing?

i never had any problems w/ the linsys thingy i had a few years ago. it just started all of a sudden?

maybe try a diff port on the output (i'm assuming there's like 4-6 outputs).

either that or just call your Internet provider and be like, "listen bitch, fix me"

done.

The problem with doing that is... it's basically the same as "Right Click > Repair".. Just being slick by using the command prompt.

I say if all fails, you give it a swift pound with your fist.

OMG lol, one of my friends up in chicago was on the phone w/ comcast one time because his internet was not working; and they said it wasn't their problem....so he threw his cable modem at the wall and the operator lady heard the sound and said, "what was that?" and he said, "me disconnecting my service" or something like that.

it was funny. violence always makes a situation funny. so if you throw it, smash it, or kick it, even if it doesn't resolve anything, at least you'll get a kick out of it.

wait did you subscribe to dynamic or static ip address with your internet company? has your ip address changed before? i think there should be an option on your modem (connect directly to your modem, and use the address 192 dot 168 dot 0 dot 1), and there should be an option to reset your modem?

I love it when people try to get all techy and show themselves to be IT pro wannbes.

How the fuck can this command renew your routers external IP address?

What if the ISP has decided to make your IP address static, rather than dynamic?

1 Reboot the router
2 If that doesn't work there's nothing YOU can do to force an IP change and you'll need to contact the ISP.

For us to help we really need more info, particularly if is it a static (always the same) or dynamic IP that has been assigned by your ISP. I too have the 300n and have no issues with my static IP.
