Ughhhh....how can you complain about PP being emo?? Since when has PP/Spiderman's character NOT been a wussy?? People who don't read comics shouldn't place expectations on movies like this, cause you're bound to be disappointed.
Here's an interview with Raimi from Wizard that explains where he was going with the movie:

Fuck. I was actually looking forward to this one cause the first two were lame (see: cheesy) as hell, and this one looked different in the trailers.

i remember the cartoon version of the 90's reflecting a lot of Parker's normal life, and they even had some touching moments when bad things happen. but he was still motivated to do something about it and not just sit down and cry. what happened to the wise crackin' friendly neighbourhood spiderman?

Psh, that was a cartoon!
And lets not forget this is just Raimi's interpretation of it. But I don't think he's being untrue to Spidey's character. I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't comment...but I'll be sure to pop back in here after I watch it. Who knows, I may also think it sucks assballs...just pointing out that it's not far fetched for PP to be a little crying bitch boy. It's nerdy fucking Peter Parker ffs. He's not Batman.
