yea, money is always an issue
...i just do not want to see LOVE being used for more commercial/larger events and have it lose what it currently *has*. I don't want to see the bottle crowd/etc. or the guidos coming to LOVE <-- but unfortunately those two crowds probably are what brings in the money for clubs (liquor/tables etc). I would so hate to see that tho...at LOVE. That is why i prefer that it stays underground (even if it is kinda unrealistic). I love it that ppl were able to bring Andy Moor to LOVE...that Sasha knows about it enough to choose it as a venue to spin at...and that Thrillseekers will be playing at LOVE in August, thanks to our locals/promoters. if MADE can book djs and keep in mind the space capacity etc. AND keep the admissions price low...then yes i would love to see some events there...
for instance, i still can't see how they can book Ferry at Cielo and NOT have it become overcrowded and overheated...maybe the fact that the party is on a SUNDAY will help. I thought last year's 'private' party (on a Tuesday) was a good enough size. Any more crowded than that, well i dunno... |
Well, I havent really seen MADE do what would be a GREAT party. They seem more about the business of it. That's why admission prices are high (and no, it's not because of the costs). M.A.N.D.Y. were not that expensive to book (back when they did- I think in Nov) and Lee, wasn't he living here for a bit? Reduced admission for that party was $35.
Bookashade in March @ Studio B cost $12 regular admission.
If Love patrons loved that place so much, that place would be packed every weekend till close, and it's not. So if the owner made some kind of deal with Bindra, good for him. He hasn't recovered one freakin' cent since that place opened.
