wow, that is an interesting reply and i understand completely what you mean. It might be more of a northern european thing than neccessarily a 'western culture' thing. Most Germans are quite introverted, if you are in Germany, you will prolly have a hard time just starting to talk to people -I am no exception here.

Apart from that, one should consider that most of the time, everybody wants to be 'special'. Most people on this forum would say that they have a better taste in music than most people that listen to cheese, because it makes them feel different and unique. Who does not like the thought of being different from the masses. Isn't there a general trend -in all but the pop genre- that in order to prove how 'interested' one is in the music, one has to listen to the most underground songs possible?
It appears that being different from the mass is seen as the ultimate goal -I am striving for this too, who is not?- and that is the reason why the 'cute brunette' is more attractive than the hot blone. She, the brunette, is different from the masses, since she shows her intelligence through subtle ways and does not 'need' to resort to her body to catch men.
