1. Cars.
What are the two main things you notice when you walk out onto the street? Buildings and cars. They would probably consider the infrastructure to be somewhat fascinating, considering how advanced it is in comparison to that of the 1700's. However, there were very intricate buildings made in the 1700's, so it isn't all that different and new.
Cars on the other hand were something that, although I am sure were somewhat imagined, I doubt were not thought to be the way that they are now. Having SO MANY of them zooming around at high speeds, these big futuristic machines with what seems to be a mind of their own, would be a very cool thing to see I think.
2. Density/activity/grandeur.
In the 1700's, population was far lower, and villages were much smaller. There was not as much activity going on, and not nearly as populated as it is now. I think the speed and the amount of people/activity/things happening around you would be very intimidating. I am sure with some time they would adjust, but immediately, I would assume that would be the most frightening thing.
