One might think that, but I am sure there are tons of people out there, that given the chance (ie: money, fame, chance), would definitely want to broaden their past times, hobbies and areas of interest.

Just because I am a software engineer doesn't mean I have to be pigeon holed into that role my entire life. I'm an incredible cook and plan on having my own restaurant.

It might seem ridiculous to you, but to many, its a dream. Let the guy do as he pleases. Don't like it, don't comment.

Well, that is a great ambition - you are taking your skills and knowledge and applying them on an entrepeneural feat... It would just make more sense for Tiesto to use his music knowledge and try to further his musical professional career, making more productions, remixes, and gaining respect for what he is respected for (a talented musical personality) - I don't see Paul van Dyk or Armin, or Carl Cox going off trying to sell their name on a cutlery line or a fashion fad item, because that would be absurd. It's almost like saying "my name is gold, people bow to me, and I can put my name on anything and they will buy it, it will make me so much (*more) famous) - I mean I find it a bit prickish...quite a turnoff...shows what an ego-maniac Tijs Verwest really is.

Now, given I say that, I think Tiësto has put together some excellent mix albums, and he is a well-respected electronic/club performer worldwide. But trying to capitalize on your own name is like trying to propogate the religion of fan-worship...Tiesto would be better off getting into radio if he wants to spread his vibe more - you know PVD hosts 3 shows a week and 2 bi-monthy shows, Fritz Soundgarden, Area 33 on Sirius, and VONYC Sessions - and the Einslive Rocker show...and he has time to play 3 clubnights a week...dunno how he does it.

Tiesto is capitalizing... Not going after any interests (Except Money). He's a twat, not a renaissance man.
