Since your a noob, around 2000-2003 NYTA's use to come down to see Paul Van Dyk, Armin, Ferry, Sasha, DJ Tiesto back when these guys where building the popularity or just to party. Amdmaxx and Tatgirl have been longtime peeps wo have traveled down for the longest time. Nowadays DC has gotten some what lame but I'm not going to get into that since I can see house eyes quoting me with bullshit
well of course i was too young to know about the scene back then. But from what I can tell it looks like things are really starting to pick back up. But of course its prolly not the same thing you are referencing since most club events require dress codes, making it less rave-tastic.

how is this club?
930 Club is one of the premier venues for concerts (mostly rock and metal) in Washington DC. This place is a warehouse-type venue with a decent sound system and a retractable stage. I'm somewhat surprised that Paul van Dyk will be spinning at 930 Club. The venue is not as big as other venues in DC where PvD has played in the past. Unfortunately, Nation is no more, so 930 is it.
Last time I checked on the Buzzlife site...PvD goes on at midnight. Considering that the last Buzzlife event (featuring John Digweed) at 930 Club ended at 4 am, I wouldn't expect PvD to spin more than 3-4 hours.

There is no dress code at 930 (if anyone is wondering), and can hold about 1200 people.
And if people didn't know, 930 club is where the first ever raves in DC were held, courtesy of Catastrophic Productions. (and even me and my friends threw one there once).

9:30 is a great venue. It's one big room with 2 or 3 levels of balconys going around it. The system thumps too. Buzzlife has done quite a few parties there now. It should be lots of fun.

Poor Nation d:,-( That was the best venue in DC. Fur does not have a strict dress code anymore. I think there realized how much money they were loosing. Nice jeans and clean sneakers are allowed. They even let us bring in a a camera last time I was there.
