as far as I can see, the major points are (ignoring similarities):
CDJ-800
-much cheaper
-0.05% pitch accuracy (less accurate)
-Auto-looping controls
-smaller internal memory, no external memory
-no wave display
CDJ-1000
-expensive
-0.02% pitch accuracy
-no auto-looping, but possibly better loop controls overall (need to confirm)
-external memory
-wave display
please feel free to add to or edit this as appropriate. so I guess I'm stuck wondering, just what is it that the 1000 does that the 800 doesn't, aside from adjust pitch more precisely? It seems that they both do almost exactly the same things, but it's just easier with one than the other. Is it really worth an extra $600 each for these functions? Jonas, can you take a few seconds away from banging dave's mom to explain why you'd pick the 800, having used both?

Hey bro, the reality is that if they are never going to leave your house and they are only for a bedroom studio, 800's are the way to go. You hit every point in your post about the difference (with a couple of technical difference in addition). But, I thought about 1000's when I was getting new decks and found out that I didn't need to get them. Ask anyone on here and they will most likely agreee, with the exception of Dave who is an elitist nazi scumbag.
