Not a fan of promoters booking an act based on production skills -- although I should keep my mouth shut since SvD was not really known as a DJ when he came to SF and hurt this whole city real bad last January lol) and they would attract a few diehard EDM fans from the area, they simply aren't known by that many people so if they were to be booked in SF I personally wouldn't rely on any more money than usual coming in out of the gig.
If a profit could be assured based on normal attendence and a few die hards and whoever pays the DJs is willing to take a risk, it might be worth it for future purposes.
Like, I mean, I'm a fan of taking a risk of a DJ that you think could be big early in his career just as he's getting exposure with the hope that he doesn't jump to some other agent/agency and when it comes time for him to play in your area again he'll remember who supported him the first time around.
The problem these days is that an up-and-coming DJ seems to jump around agencies as they move up the chain in popularity and with each agency they go to you have to be basically fight to get the DJ all over again in the case that another promoter shows interest. A DJs agent has become so key in being able to provide good PR...getting that DJ exposure. Have known some DJs who I thought were amazing but they just never had that manager and/or agent who could take him to the next level. |
i have anjunabeats worldwide of which one of the cds was mixed by super8 and tab and it was a pretty awesome mix from what i remember. so yes i'd say theyre good djs
