My best advice is to check out some breakbeat music. It's often similar to rap except without the rapping. I don't listen to it much anymore but check out stuff like DJ Icey and other Miami-Breaks artists. I don't think I would fit stuff like Hybrid into this category, they're more what I would call progressive-breaks.

This is my problem with most rap songs. When just the beat is on I'm like 'damn this could be good' and then the idiot rapper starts talking about weed and bitchez and grillz and 24" rims and it ruins it for me

Yeah, minus a few rappers this has always been my feeling on rap. Some of the beats are awesome but the rapping itself is just repetitive and annoying. I remember listening to those "bass tapes" when I was younger and my friends had big soundsystems in their cars, those are pretty much the beats without the rapping except a voice everyonce in awhile will say "BASS!", "KICK THE BASS!", or some funny shit like that.

My friend with the four 12" subs in his Ford Ranger used to play Techmaster PEB Bass Computer all the time. I could hear that fuker coming when he was about a quarter mile from my house.
