In my 4 odd years of being an FL user, I'm going to have to piss in the wind of alot of you with the "sound quality" debate.
The summing of FL is no different from any other 32bit float DAW. That is the main argument in the sound quality debate. From that perspective, they are all pretty much the same. Lets get that out of the way first.
However, just prior to my Cubase migration, I found some VST instruments to be very temperamental. One example being Korg Legacy. Often I would play through the song, stop, rewind, and the synth would sound slightly different. This wasn't an LFO/modulation issue either, as the difference would sustain itself for the entire duration of the song until I stopped and rewound again a few times.
Crappy coding? Yes.
It's not that FL has any worse sound quality, but it's handling of a few plugins was iffy at times. Thats the only fault I believe FL has other than the fact that it has SHIT dual core support. I've not had any of these problems in Cubase yet, but Cubase has crashed on me more times in the last month than FL has in the last 4 years.
Before you ask... yes... legit Cubase Studio 4.
MOST of my plugins are legit too.
