i liked the original, like it that you kept the groove. you have some nice ideas implemented but in general, it sound a bit too much like nik's original to an extent. also, that high pitched noise/synth/whatever has to go, it's just annoying

Really looking forward to hearing your take on this, Rob, but the page isn't loading for me for some reason. I suppose I'll wait for Nik to place it elsewhere if I can't get it going.

Well, that definitely is a bummer - because I probably can't think of anything worse than essentially ripping off an original without adding anything worthwhile.

Back to the drawing board then I guess...

I don't think it's that similar, although I do see where the guys saying so are coming from. I do feel you could had added some extra synth or something to make it a bit more "yours" but on the other hand the whole structure is completely different etc.

On a purely technical standpoint, however:
-I think the kick is a bit too thin and "trancey" for a track like this.
-More percs are required (though I seem to be saying this to everyone)
-A sub-bass would also be nice, the mix is lacking in low-end

I'll upload this in a bit.

Thanks a ton Nik

And to the rest of you for having a listen - I'll definitely be heading back to this one and trying to sort out a few of the suggestions you all have made.

Your stuff is improving every time, I liked this.

It might just be me, but I think the percs sound a bit too high on the mids and could use tiny bit of low pass delay. In my opinion.

Overall though I liked the remix, keep it up man
