cool, thanks for listening!

i know how it is... i have literally 15 sets to go through, half from TA and half from elsewhere, plus my normal shopping....

thank god for headphones at work

i've bought nearly 100 new tracks since i recorded this mix and nearly half of them i wish i had included as well somehow

the next thing i'm working on is a "music for jungles 2" which will be sort of an obvious continuation of that atmospheric/narrative thing i did with the first one but this one will be a lot more varied in sounds and i want to showcase a lot of the jungly deep techno i have been getting into and some of my own productions

The first EDM album I ever listened to from start to finish used Diabla as a closer, and ever since I've been hooked. Hope this is just as mesmerizing!

I've probably listened to this mix 20 times in the last week - it's without a doubt my favorite of the year thus far.

In the thread for my Summer promo, you complimented me on being able to find tracks that fit together exceptionally well, but honestly Adam - this mix just makes me wish I could pull it off as well as you can. You have such a solid understanding of how to effectively layer elements from tunes on top of each other to make one of the most lush sounding techy-mixes I've heard in a long time.

It never feels dull - it never feels repetitive, and it couldn't possibly feel more cohesive. The mix into "Diabla" at the end is just the icing on the cake - like eating the cherry at the end of a Sundae.

This was an absolute delight - and will be a tough one to beat for my mix of the year this year.

Keep up the great work bro - I really hope someday our paths cross outside the internets

Edit: On further reflection, I'd also like to add that the mix out of "Woman of the Sun" is pretty much sex and makes my ears gasm every time I hear it.

this is true.

RJT and i were actually discussing your mix the other day while we were driving to the grocery store and i was saying how jealous i am of you guys for being able to understand these tracks that on their own can be totally boring and uninteresting to me... like if i listen to the sample for a lot of these i'll just go "meh, sounds alright but i'd need to hear it in context" - and i just think you have such a wonderful understanding of tracks like that. not to say that all these tracks suck on their own, but when a set is programmed and mixed as flawlessly as this, they mean so much more to the listener. that's what this mix was all about for me.

especially after i read your thread in MD about perceived complexity & polyrhythm, i was just like "oh yeah, he gets it!"

wow, thank you for that, guys. it means a lot coming from two people whose mixes i have consistently enjoyed and admired.

i was originally going to play a track after diabla, omid 16b - a new way, but then i felt it would have been tasteless, and as a promo it'd be better to end on a literal high note

@rjt - just listening to the things you do in your mixes has inspired me to push my mixing as much as i can.

the one thing i always try to find in 'my sound' is lush music, so it makes me happy that you have heard that.

no other remix of woman of the sun comes close. funk dvoid/francois dubois is without a doubt one of my favorite producers (and a fucking good dj as evidenced from my bruised feet and waking up drunk at 3 pm on sunday)

when i saw him play saturday i had my promo with me and he came down on the floor for a bit and i showed him the mix. in my less than sober state i remember showing him that i started and ended the set with his tracks. he was going to take it i think but i was not thinking straight and put it back in my pocket lol

thank you for listening again. i just wish the promoters here thought the same as you...

No problem and keep your head up - things can change in an instant, and you've definitely already got the talent end covered.

I can tell you the person who wrote this either listens to "hands in the air" or just doesn't like you...because this set is bad ass and i mean seriously bad ass. I might not go as far as RJT and call it the set of the year, but it is up there. I seriously liked it enough that its gonna be my flight music today along with (shameless promotion)mine. Next time you unleash a set pm me, because this one almost slipped by! Really the flow and progression are really well achieved...how much hunting and gathering you put into this?

it's from frankie peña, a house music dj here in nyc on the rhythmism.com forum that i signed up on about 2 weeks ago haha. yeah i have about 700 downloads on this and give cds out every weekend but i get very little feedback so i don't know what to think of this mix. it's hard to look at it objectively for me

thanks for the positive feedback, glad you liked it. i like your music taste so that's cool.

i hunted for about a month working on this, and it changed a lot over the course of that time. had a pool of about 60 tracks that i liked. it was originally going to be a lot more minimal, tracks like daso - la fee verte, two armadillos - tropics, two armadillos - tunnel of light, gam - wire work, marshall jefferson - mushrooms, etc. then it went through a lush uplifting prog phase - tracks like satoshi fumi - 8.va and the sian remix, sian - juggernaut, murat ozer - vicious circles, etc. then it came to this basically the day i mixed it.

i've been hunting and gathering since this was mixed for my next mix which i will record in a week or two. been lazy about burning cds. i've got a little over 100 new tracks in the pool for this one so i'm still locking down what i want to make from it. i've got like 3 different mixes i want to do right now - basically a sequel to tantra, a sequel to music for jungles 2, and a really chill romance mix for the bedroom
