yes... yes that is anti semitic

the boycott has absolutely nothing to do with the academic institutions themselves. The reaons for the boycott are not academically related (such as lets say lack of educational funding, or lack of teacher benifits) the boycott is based upon political issues and qualms that these institutions have absolutely no control over no any interest in.

stop acting so stupid.

The academia of countries is usually a driving force for change. Academia is also supposed to be the institution that evaluates current events critically and bouches for policy change. In this sense, they are related to the political events. The US has been doing this to Cuba for ages. Where is your outrage for Cuba?

Don't boycott the British just yet. Check out this NY Times article that provides a little more perspective.

I told myself never to enter this forum again for it's really time consuming, but I'll make an exception this time.

yeah it is. if these so "righteous" brits weren't anti-semitic, they would boycott the US for their "war crimes" in Iraq (and I didn't forget the british army there too - so maybe they should boycott themselves? ). or the palestinian universites for the missiles launched into Sderot (and I can make you a list of a lot more countries they should boycott or should have boycotted for war crimes). then their act wouldn't be anti-semitic.
and I wonder if palestinians students who go to Israeli universities will be boycotted too...

Yes but Cuba is banned for human rights abuses, torture, etc., etc. where Isreal is not.

quote:
Cuba remains the one country in Latin America that represses nearly all forms of political dissent. President Fidel Castro, during his 47 years in power, has shown no willingness to consider even minor reforms. Instead, the Cuban government continues to enforce political conformity using criminal prosecutions, long- and short-term detentions, mob harassment, police warnings, surveillance, house arrests, travel restrictions, and politically-motivated dismissals from employment. The end result is that Cubans are systematically denied basic rights to free expression, association, assembly, privacy, movement, and due process of law.

>>Source<<

The same certainly can't be said of Isreal on such a scale.
