^^^^^^^ big names are not necessarily cheese. cheese is dj sammy.
boston needs a big club with big names all the time, not only 6 times a year and probably a smaller club for talents.

rise is not about music, but about gays. Not that i have something against them, but being surronded by gays only is not what you expect when you go to a club. And they have vending machines for juice

you post shit about gays at rise every single post about that club. You are definitely homophobic. They've never bothered me when I've been at that club. I go because they book acts like josh wink/carl craig/fred everything/demi/desyn masiello. I wonder why an afterhours club has a vending machine for juice. You don't have a clue about anything if you think big names make the scene.

Rise is cool but I dont have the energy to stay up past 3. I havent been to the landing in a long time but I used to goto a drum and bass night they had there a while back, and I wasnt impressed with the place. Its hard to imagine anything going on at goodlife downtown, I mean, the basement is depressing. I miss the days of Axis in the 1996-1998 timeframe. I dont think Avalon is as bad as you make it sound. All the names you mentioned make them money, and thats ok, some of those DJ are worth checking out. I loved Armin in march. Above and Beyond was a highlight in the past year too. It would have been cool if they made Axis into a more underground scene that you could switch too. I think it was hip hop the last time I went over there on fri. but since then I havent bothered. I wish there was something like Rise that wasnt afterhours. GU, your open party idea is cool Ive been hoping somebody in Beacon hill would start something like that on a prime roofdeck. Thats the way to kick it on a summer night in Boston!!!

Edit, I think we should take over the retarded rattlesnake roofdeck and make it an outdoor progressive party on friday starting early like at 5, trance on sat night, and reggae or something fun and chill on sun.

I've been going to avalon/axis since 2001. I know how it was and how it is now. It used to be one of the best clubs in the country with a more diverse clued in crowd with djs ranging from Mark Farina to Cassius To Carl Cox To Sasha and Digweed. It's not even close to how cool and fun it was. The themes and effort they put into the production for the club nights is not even there period. They used to have really cool themes every friday. It's way past its peak and everyone whos really been involved in the house/dance scene around here has moved away from lansdowne street to underbar/phoenix landing/rise/venu/aria/etc. etc.

this is my sec post about rise that i mention gays.
If in a bedroom size club as rise where guys put their hands into other's guys pants and two other groups of drunk guys kiss each other doesnt bother you,it bothers me.
I dont remember asking why there is a vending machine. It just looks stupid and dumb to have a vending machine for juice in a club. It is not even a club, it is an appartment.
And if you like josh wink, I cant stand him, so keep your opinion on what's cheesy and whats not for yourself and dont be such an expert on music, because it is all a matter of taste.

Who the fuck are you? I can have a valid opinion on music all I want. I have worked at avalon and been out to every single venu in boston that plays house music and have been djing for years. I think that gives me a little bit of a clue as to whats going on and gives me a right to have an opinion about Boston. Hiding behind "its a matter of taste" is the weakest most overrused argument ever with regard to music. The people who generally argue that can't explain what separates good and bad music anyway so I don't give a damn what you think. Also You obviously pay attention to what gay people at rise are doing and have a problem ignoring it. I'm not bothered by things I'm not looking at.

who do you want me to be?
There are many people who have djed for years and dont like certain styles of music, this does not make them any experts, of course you dont listen to music you dont like, this doesnt mean the music is bad. And yes it is all a matter of taste. YOu are one of those people that think they attended the best parties and after they stopped attending the rest is all bullshit.
Also themes at avalon are still different everytime I go, maybe you havent been there recently.
You must be with closed eyes when you go to rise I ve to many other clubs where even if i try to look for something like this i wont see it, but anyway i dont care. you like it you go there, i wont. i was just saying what i think about the club as you were.
Not everyone needs to share your opinion.

+1...
PVD back in the day - I was standing right behind him, literally looking over his shoulder, watching him spin... Ah, the memories. But it's ok, there's always new memories to make

To his defense, Trump didn't even really look like a bum.

Studio Mezmor (fka Crobar) in NYC and Womb in Tokyo, both big clubs, also have vending machines for drinks. But who cares?? You don't even see them when you're on the main dance floor.
