Overproduced, trying way too hard to be bigger than they are. If they come to thier senses they might find that awesome energy they brought us in the form of Silent Alarm.

And this isn't a case of "oh they are popular, lets not like them" as they were probably BIGGER before they released the second album. Well to my knowledge anyhow.

And Arctic Monkeys... average band, don't like em or dislike em - way overrated though.

I actually really liked nearly every song on Silent alarm: it's one of my all-time top albums: weekend in the city, however, sucks

Arctic monkeys are really good, if you give them a good listen- unlike Bloc Party, their second album is just as good as their first too, i reckon-- I don't reckon they're overrated really: here anyway- they're stuffs pretty cool-- should be a good gig

phones disco mix is rad.

i think im a little over the wave of britpop that bands like these brought back momentarily.

maximo park, kaiser chiefs, the fratellis, franz, the rakes etc etc

it all sounds the same.

It was cool while it lasted though, Britpop resurgences are always welcome, but should leave as quickly as they come.

^^^

I think the n00bs are just adapting it: look at Kings Of Leon (how good is their new album!)-- it's not like they're staying in the genre of britpop started by the bands you mentioned: they're just using it as a base maybe-- just like those bands used stuff before them as a base (to be extremely specific )

Kings of Leon are from southern USA, not Britpop

this is true

I still see them as the same sound-- you labelled britpop a genre didn't ya? not a location.... Same with the killers--

yer I guess there are similarities now.

the KoL started off with a very alt-country/garage rock sound, but since have gone for the more produced stadium rock ala U2. Which isn't my style at all.

The Killers have always been a joke to me, never been able to take them seriously. They sound like Meatloaf on a couple tracks

I don't like the idea of bloc party being remixed because the strongest element in many of their songs is the drumming, which can't come across too well in edm.

They're on the whole fun to listen to in burst, like queens of the stone age, we are scientists and the kaiser chiefs but for long lasting appeal & skill, plus brilliant live shows you'd have to go a long long way to come close to matching Muse

sgan you crazy pom.

Bloc Party's drumming on 2nd album is pretty well electronic anyway?

We are Scientists is one of my fav party albums, though havent listened to it in ages.

and dont put QOTSA in same category man, Rated R and Songs for the Deaf are 2 of the best albums......ever.
