well i guess that sounds like a plan...

upgrade the ram when i have the cash... or when i can convince mum that its necessary to further my education..

Virtual Turntables skips under windows XP.

that is all there is too it. I don't think buying more ram will help. I have 256, and a 766Mhz computer.

even with NOTHING running, VTT still skips. when i used to be able to play 8 decks at once in VTT with 98 and not have it skip..

it's windows XP. in fact, i find that windows XP manages ram BETTER than 98, i can load more files in other programs.

I am almost positive XP is the problem with VTT. if you get more ram, and it works, let me know.

anyway, DTT comes out soon *fingers crossed* and that will work with XP.

i used to use DeeJaySystem MKI in WinXP...it started to skip all the time on me....and i had 512mb DDR on my AthlonXP 1800+! i even tried VTT in XP with the same system....same skipping occurred....

so i reformatted to Win2k Pro....hasn't skipped yet. WinXP is the problem....Win2K is the solution

yo.. i just noticed something when running vtt in xp..

every time you exit vtt in winxp, it doesn't shut down properly and still runs in the background... i was having a bitching time with vtt in winxp, so i was fiddling with the buffers and block sizes... after about 10 restarts, i noticed my comp was slow like crazy, so i hit ctrl-alt-del and there were like 10 instances of vtt running... maybe this is just my comp, but somethings fucked up...

anyways.. maybe that's why some of your vtts are skipping in xp.. i dunno...

It does this in Win2k as well, and I'm guessing it will do the same in NT 4... I think it's some kind of NT non-compatabilty problem, as XP has an NT-style kernel. You'll just have to kill VTT manually with ctrl-alt-del each time you exit.
