i got my mixer off ebay and my cdjs off craigslist.. saved a shitload for quality stuff

Vestax VMC-004 <200 perfect condition
CDJ-200 250 - outstanding condition
CDJ-100s 150 - lil worse than cdj200 but still great and works great

so i was a happy camper

I dunno man I've never seen or used that system before but I'd personally steer clear. It might be great but if just one component breaks down then the whole system instantly becomes useless...

The CDJ200's are popular or if you're prepared to buy used then you could hunt down mk1 CDJ800's or consider the Denon CDJ's. As for mixers, the world is your lobster if you are buying used I wouldn't worry about FX too much just yet, they will just get in the way until you've found your feet. If you get into it you can always add an FX unit or maybe upgrade your mixer to one with FX built in later.

eBay is safe if you don't get over excited & buy the first thing you see, I got my mixer, cans, FX unit & amp all 2nd hand off eBay.

If you are on a budget i highly recommend getting a pair of Numark Axis 9s. I bought a used pair off ebay a couple of months ago for $300 plus shipping with a 90 day warranty. Numark Axis 9 on Ebay I bought them off this seller, just send them an email and make him an offer for $300 and i'm sure he will agree as he did with me.
The decks are quite adequate, have a vinyl mode and plenty of effects to keep you interested. Of course they are not Pioneer CDJ 1000s but for the money they are your best bet.
And as far as the mixer for less than a $150 bucks including shipping you will be able to get something decent that will last you years. Look into a pioneer 300, or some kind of vestax or denon, mixers that are known for their high quality.
All in all you'll be able to get a decent setup and find out if you really like djing, and in case you decide to upgrade later down the road you'll be able to sell this setup at nearly the same price you paid for, something that can not be said for the KAM set up you were considering.
