go get another dog. it will ease the pain since it will distract you. also you will try to inject a lot of the things you did with your old dog with your new dog. some will work and then remind you of the great times you had with the previous.
That doesn't sound too healthy. It's best to take some time, so that when you do get a new dog, it'll be for the right reasons.

imo a dog is a dog
its sad when they die, but its a dog.... i guess i just never really got attached to pets as much as other poeple do.
sounds like he is old enough to die too, his time has come. get another dog if it makes you feel any better that could help.

hey everyone
i come in here hoping to find some cheer up words.....it's almost 4 pm in france....
to explain the situation , my dog is sick....i got "her" since im 11 and for a long time "she" is sick now....these past weeks "her" state deteriorated very quickly and the medicine nor the vet could be helpful anymore
"she" has spent the past days lying , hardly eating (and god knows if "she" used to love eating) and hardly moving at all
so finally my dad and I took a decision , we cant bring "her" to the vet because if we try to move "her" , "she's" screaming ,barking in pain
so ....my dad called the vet and he's going to come at home and euthanize "her" around 7 pm
this dog is basically my little baby i know it's the best solution because i cant stand "her" suffering but OMG ....im feeling like calling the vet back and telling that i dont want he comes ,
i dont want "her" to die
sorry if all this sounds cheesy and EMO im just so unhappy right now
fixed for pattern.
my question is this. is your dog suffering? and can anything be done to help it?

i had to put my cat (i fucking hate cats but an ex made me get one...this one was cool because it starting acting like a dog from being around 2 labs all of the time) to sleep 3 weeks ago and it is hard for sure. I decided to spend its last moments with it and had it in my arms when it died. It was a very sad experience, but you just have to tell yourself that putting it out of its misery and taking the pain away is the most selfless loving thing you could do to an animal. Just give it time, you will heal...just right now spend every moment you have left with it and show it all the love you can until the time comes. No person or thing is forever, but memories last as long as you let them
edit:don't get a new dog right away...give it a little time first
