I LOVE Caraway seeds.

You folks in other parts of the world also call it CUMIN.

I love caraway seeds in my rye, fried, with a baked garlic clove rubbed against the slice.

Czechs also are known to cook with a lot of this spice, notably in our sourcraut/cabbage.

Cumin is hotter to the taste, lighter in colour, and larger than caraway (Carum carvi), another umbelliferous spice that is sometimes confused with it. Some older cookbooks erroneously name ground coriander as the same spice as ground cumin.

You are right for English, however like I said, Caraway in other parts of the world is called Cumin.

It's Cumin or slight spelling/variation of the word in French, Italian, German, Czech, Croatian, Icelandic and Polish.
