call it two bumps (that middle one was in response to a fucked up post that was there, then disappeared. lol).

i listen to plenty of mixes... i guess what you were meaning to say was 'review others as well'....?

you're right, i probably should

Digging this at work now. Relaxed and a little funky. I like it! Thanks for sharing.

Sounded great Jeff, the way you worked with the beatless mix was very nice.

Keep up the good work.

Spiritchaser - Feel (K-Bana Remix) - [Guess Records]
K-Bana - Show Love - [Guess Records] Good tune. Went really well with Feel.
Star You Star Me - Perfect Day (Acos CoolKA's Mix) - [Stars Music] I got the original of this. This is the only other mix of this track that's good imo.
Bravo Mike - Let's Just Make Up (Alternate Instrumental) - [Glideslope Music] Good programming from tracks 1-4. Each one built of the previous one. I really would've been a little more patient with the mix from 3-4 though. Stretch it out a little as the tracks matched really well.

Pimo - Memoir - [The Source] Best track of the set. Really nailed the mix into it too.
Shy, Chaim - Popsky - [Renaissance]
Francois Dubois - I Try (Jamie Anderson Beatless Remix) - [Urbantorque]
Francois Dubois - I Try (Jamie Anderson Remix) - [Urbantorque]
Dualtone - Outbreak - [Outside The Box Music] I like how you kicked it up a notch with this track, following I Try which completely slowed it down.
Santur - Urgency (Dynamite Mix) - [Dutchie Music] Another great tune. Outbreak and this one go really well together.
Spiritchaser - Feel (Terrace Dub) - [Guess Records] again, tune. This sequence (outbreak -> Urgency -> Feel) was really good imo. Set up the last 16 minutes of the set really well)

Prime 33 - Burn (16 Bit Lolita's Headspinning Vox Mix) - [Morrison Recordings]
Minimalistix - Struggle For Pleasure (Dave Lambert & Elektrokid
remix) - [Promo] Awesome track. Perfect way to finish the promo off.

While it's only been just over a year since you taken up the art, you've come a LONG way since the first time I heard you at the Green Room where you train wrecked almost every mix. I really don't want to sound like a broken record, but with each mix I've heard from you, you take a noticeable step forward in the art. What really separates this mix from the rest is that this one, unlike the others, is the most complete mix you've done. What I mean by that is that everything is practically spot-on; programming, timing, EQ control. There were moments where a track came in a little too early, but I'm not gonna give you shit because a track came in 4 beats too early. As far as musical selection goes, I haven't heard your first version, but it's hard to imagine how the first go at this mix could be better than the final.

Finally, with regards to all your mixes: you've done an excellent job creating a sound for yourself. I seriously browse BP sometimes and I'll run into a track and just think "this is totally a Jeff track". You got this funky, sci-fi, groovey sound, with these subtle, long-winding spacey synthlines. This mix demonstrates that sound best.

I look forward to your next mix, and the direction you'll take with it.

Pros
Programming
Really good vibe of the mix overall.
Mixing.

Cons
Maybe a bit more diverse tracklist.

Pete - you're pretty much bang on as usual. Listening to this again, there are definitely some things I'd do differently (timing, one mix in particular i didn't quite like) - but i guess that's what you get for doing a mix with a jvc 3-disc system lol (the speakers suck hard).

I need to invest in some monitors me thinks.

Also - first post updated with upcoming gigs

i'll check out your mix and let you know what i think...

monitors are definitely a worthy investment, i'm using the Event TR-6 monitors and love them becuase you hear "EVERYTHING." songs i thought were great i'm thinking 'hmmm, its not as good as i thought', because you hear the bass way out of proportion or something else that you may not catch on normal speakers. Then when i go to my car i'm in for a treat because it sounds beautiful becasue i compensated for the mistakes!

i just checked out the mix, great stuff!!! i thoroughly enjoyed it, very awesome summery beachy stuff just to lounge out to! i'll definitely be playing this one in my car!

edit: the only song i would really like to omit from this list is: Shy, Chaim - Popsky, i think its a pretty crappy song, took away the flow of the mix for a bit, mainly because of the dissonant chord progression but like everything else.

Just DL'd the set and I'm listening now.

Jeff, what the hell? When did all this happen? I remember when Tom was DJing at his house for his xmas party, and you were just watching. Wow, I'm impressed!

LOL

it's all kind of happened pretty quickly..... i first tried mixing back in March of last year, and it was fun - so i picked up some used gear last summer. being a promoter, i was fortunate enough to know a lot of people in the industry who were interested in hearing what i could do.

big break was playing the sonic closing party, and from that i earned a spot in the rotation for the docks this summer at sunset sessions. i've hooked up with carey britt (who managed sean miller and did bookings for sonic and now the docks) - and we are doing a weekly at mod club this fall called 'exposed'.

Thanks for your comments guys, and bruuen - if I were to take one track out of this mix (looking back on it) - it would be Popsky.... I appreciate the constructive criticism. I hope to learn something new with every mix I put out there.

Also, first post updated with full August schedule
