With all the negative comments I've heard about Lawler's sets recently, I went to Vanguard with very low expectations. But, like I told Julia, he might just surprise us, and that's exactly what he did. He played a dark-ass, dirty teched-out electrofied set. It's just when everyone counts you out and least expects it that the DJ plays an amazing set. He even went tribal on us for a few tracks - that was fucking amazing too. Overall, pretty solid night. I know Lawler could have played even better, but it was good night nonetheless.

Good seeing JC, Junior Chavez, Roman S, Kittycrush (the other "slim" Michelle -- it's been ages), Julia and anyone else I may have forgetten. Sarah and Michelle, I had no idea you were there. I saw this girl that looked exactly like Michelle but it wasn't! It was hilarious. Ask Junior! And Sarah, good to see you're back in action, and with some new friends!

so i shouldn't have gone out saturday, didn't really plan on it for sure until mid way through the week but i was so bummed that i missed EDC and JOOf, so i was not about to miss lawler!!!! my doctor would die if he saw me saturday out dancing but, well, i'm not one for follow directions so a couple of vicodins and drinks later i was not in as much pain as normal so off i went.

and i am SO glad i went!!! lawler's set was so great. not miami great, i mean come on, but still!!!! and the last hour, whatever. so dark and deep!!! he pulled out these amazing sound bites and tricks and had the crowd in the palm of his hands for almost 4 hours. he was having a blast up there and played until the end!!! i was in heaven! i wanted to dance a lot harder but knew my limitations. but man, i couldn't stop moving or smiling.

i was fortunate enough to have my edm angel help me out to get up on stage. i actually started the night down front with friends dancing and having a great time and that's where i would have liked to have stayed for the night but true to form crazy crackheads throwing elbows, bumping into me etc. i was just way to nervous about someone hitting me in my neck and that would not have been good so up to the stage i went. and of course my favorite dj to watch mix is steve so i got the perfect view all night long.

he was so nice, again, when i got to talk to him! i got to tell him how amazing his miami set was and as a thank you i got a kiss from him, on the cheek, ooohh me blushes but we also talked about twilo closing but how he loved that party, he had so much fun, one of the best!!! and drew, he says he remembers me from last year, being the school teacher who plays lights out 3 for her students but ya know, he meets like a million people a day, but anyways, he was kind and gracious and just amazing behind the decks! even michelle was dancing and really enjoyed his set!!!!!!

julia, i can't believe you left!!! lesson learned my neck was killing me by the end of the night but it was well worth it. so great seeing so many friends and the TA's that i did see. man ref, sorry i didn't see you. would have loved to give you a big hug.
