I met Oran "juice " Jones once


I was working in club back in london , must have been 87 or 88 and we had a track act playing
i was running the audio and some black dude comes into the booth sits down and says "hope you don't mind me hanging out I'm with the artist"
Sure no prob I tell him and don't pay much attention
After the show he thanked me for letting him stay I looked up from the sound board for the first time and recognised him instantly
the Song had been a huge hit about 2 years before in the UK
He holds out his hand and says "hi , I'm Oran"
so there I am mouth wide open totally in awe of the guy unable to say a word except uuuuh .
Anyway he started laughing , we chatted for a few minutes and he left.
lots of ecounters over the years with various artists but that was so unexpected it left me dumbstruck with how casual and friendly he was
