I'm a bedroom mixer now but not by choice, I just moved to England from the United States where I was playing to crowds every weekend, but the scene is so advanced here it's kind of who you know not how good you are so I'm back in the bedroom.
I gave my demo CD to a promoter and after I called him back a few days later he said he hadn't stop listening to the CD since I gave it to him, but since no one knows who I am he couldn't book me to play his party, and let me tell you once you've spun at a club, not being able to play for a crowd is 10x worse than any drug addiction.

I've been DJing almost a year and it's brilliant, I love it. My first gig was last July for my sister's birthday and I could just about beatmatch (or I thought I could hehe)! I must have sucked ass big time.
Anyway, I reckon I'm pretty good now and I'm hopefully going to be spinning at my uni (Guildford, Surrey, UK) soon.
Hey Infinity, what's your event? Is it in London?

coming out of the bedroom
I also consider myself a bedroom dj, not for long tho/ =) Hopefully, I realize I have a while still to go, but I can see myself actually playing for half decent crowds. I have a set of mine recorded into mp3 if anyone wants it, I'll be glad to send it to ya, via icq or server, etc..
I spin melodic/prog trance (apparently have the world does) but I love it soo too bad.
1) Music
2) School
3) Parties. =)

WORD..
Yeah, i'm a bedroom DJ as well. I split the DJ in a box package with a friend of mine, FTNB, and we've been trying to figure it out. The mixer that came with the setup is poop, but from what i hear its good to learn on a piece of shit so when you do upgrade you appreciate what you have. Another problem we have is that we live in Panama City and its hard as balls to get vinyls. When vinyls do come into the country the homo local dj's buy them all. We've got about 8 vinyls, no money, and a love for trance baby..yeah.

I have also made loads of mixes and put them on mp3. I always want to make it a cd and sell it to people but its never perfect. Im very critical of myself aswell. Bedroom DJ Extraordinaire
Yeah... I could fall into the category of bedroom DJ. I've had the stuff since October, but now that college is getting fun (Yeah right... finals are such a blast!! ) I haven't had much time, and I fear I've lost the skills. Oh well, theres always the summer!! I hear that about the local DJs buying all of the records. Leaves nothing for the rest of us. That's why the internet is soooo cool.
