Shit guys, thx for the replies. Haven't been able to get to this thread for a few days. I'm trying Rapid Evolution. Wouldn't touch itunes with a ten foot pole based on the quality of Apple's iPod.

Sometimes you want to label a track with more than one description, like it's "cruisy" and it's "funky" at the same time. That's what I'm talking about. You need to be able to enter several descriptive fields if that's what you need. In fact, you need to be able to label a track with as many descriptive fields as you need, and you need to be in control of the name of each descriptive field yourself.

I'm d'l'ing Rapid Evolution. We'll see how it goes.

How is this going to help when youre DJing? Will you have a laptop running iTunes so you can search your mp3s for cruisy?

The way I do it... 10 songs per CD in a wallet. Each CD has a number. Then I have a sheet stuck in the wallet which says which CD/Track each song is on. Next to that I have BPM, key and release date. Downside is you can only fit 30 songs per page and you need to reprint every time you add new songs to the list. It's better than carrying around 200 individual CDs though. :P

You could put a pocket light in there too, for reading in the dark!

This is not so much for DJing, although it probably would be useful in a pinch and I had a laptop available.

It's more so that you can easily find the type of track you want when you're first thinking about your set at home. I don't buy every single song I ever liked, but I highlight the ones I like, give it a description and rating, then I'll buy it if I think it'll work in a set.

Rapid Evolution 2. You can assign multiple styles to tracks, and dump to an Excel spreadsheet if you like. Among other things.
