Thats a massive and versatile dj setup PVD has goin on.
Yeah so can someone explain what PvD does for his DJ sets and explain his setup to me? I have always wanted to see him but that day, some stuff came up and I couldn't go. He has the weirdest setup. I know on one laptop he uses Ableton and the other is Serrato apparently. He uses 2 mixers, 2 controllers, and 2 CD players. I know what the CD players are for but why use those when you have the laptop? Is he playing one of his tunes from the laptop without some parts like the synths and adding them in "live" or is he adding keyboard parts to all the songs hes playing?? I heard theres a video of him explaining his setup. Help me out here!

actually, he doesnt use cdjs anymore nor does he use serato. he uses 2 laptops with 2 instances of ableton live one for inputs (i'm assuming) and the other for his tracks and remixing elements. he has a variety of controllers and keyboards to control ableton's interface. that mixer you see in the pic is a xone3d which doubles up as a midi controller. he supplements his tracks by adding keyboard synths to his sets. as you can see he has a vst piano loaded onto one of his laptops which lets him create different sounds and notes with the keyboards....and hes actually pretty good at playing the keyboards live too. its definitely a lot to keep track of during a set and when he first started using this setup his sets didn't sound so great, but lately he's gotten better and better. this setup has infinite possibilities when it comes to remixing live.
bottoms line, he's probably the most advanced dj out there.

yeah thats exactly what I was thinking... I thought I saw him with an access virus VST on one picture. So is he adding extra elements to his own tracks or is he taking stuff out from them and "adding them in live" and does he do anything to other artist's tracks? Seems pretty cool!
