Sidenote: why, WHY, can't I embed a video into a post? Every time I copy the 'embed' code all I see in the resulting post is the code itself? (Yes, I am copying everything over)

You might want to check out Mysteron VSTI as well. Does the same thing and for my ears it is equivalent of the Thermenin sound.
