THIS is why most people just get told to search first.
kudos man. i reckon that is a good choice. you sure about the Sony 7506s though? i don't know the headphones you listed, so i cannot comment, but the 7506s have lasted me 2 years of constant abuse so far (from my friends mostly). they don't sound like the other Sonys, so, i don't know, just check em out. |
I really forgot the code name of the Sonys I listened to, but I really wasn't impressed and they were quite expensive (about 100$).
But, knowing the history behind AKG and finding only great shouts about the AKG K181 I am willing to take the risk (if there is any).
Be sure I will tell you how they sound, I can compare them to the all mighty Sennheiser HD-25, so I will tell you how good they are (saw on other forums that the K181 are actually better than the HD-25, so this makes me shake a bit, and I really can't wait to have the AKG K181s on my head).
Also, I forgot to ask you about some infos on what soundcard to get for producing, as my crappy Creative isn't up to the task.
I saw some great sound cards from E-MU (the high end Creative brand), and I'm really considering buying the E-MU 0404 USB sound card, as it looks top knotch. What's your opinion on the Edirol Cards?
And aslo, (hope I'm not being to insistent here), cand you recommend a good and also not so expensive (about 100$) midi keyboard controller?
I was looking at a M-Audio, i think it will do the job

I'd go with the CDJ-800s for vinyl emulation & commonality with the 1000, and whatever mixer you want.
I have a NUO4 which I got because it was a 4-channel mixer with MIDI and because it was around $700. The other mixer I was considering was a Pioneer DJM-400.
I'd go with better decks first over a better mixer, but all three you're considering (NUO5, Xone 92, DJM-800) are all solid mixers, just difference in price (but are pretty close, IIRC).
The DJM-800 and NUO5 both have onboard effects, although the Xone 92 has filters (someone with more experience with this please elaborate).
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three- it really comes down to personal preference. It would be best if you could try all three out before you buy, but sometimes that's not always possible.
Oh, I'd also mention Ecler mixers don't have individual VU meters for each channel (apart from the newest one), and don't have very many lights and all.
