HERE IS WHAT OUR RESIDENT REVIEWER THOUGHT OF THE RELEASE:
From WorldDJ.

The first 'This Is' compilation, on Renaissance, Sander Kleinenberg has picked twenty-eight unique pieces of music to collate two CDs of deep and diverse sounds. With the CD's aptly titled 'Left' and 'Right,' 'This Is Sander Kleinenberg' holds promises of something special.

Fundamental in the history of dance music, Sander Kleinenberg has constantly been at the forefront of electronic music. Always pushing the boundaries of genres and forging new ones, it is for this reason that Sander's DJ sets have become so notorious for their diverse and unique sound.

The melodic intro of 'Folk I Farta,' is used to start the mix off as the beat soon drops in and gets the mix going. Sander's electro influenced sound, shines through in tracks like 'Loosen Up Children,' and Bad Mouth's 'Anymore.' Just as the sounds begins to sound straightforward, the combination of 'Moscow Traffic' and the melodic beauty 'Dusty Horizon' by Roland Klinkenberg cause a fast shift in mood and atmosphere and portray that Kleinenberg sound.

Slowing building the mood up, Sander keeps the sound atmospheric with tracks including Tom Novy's tribute remix of 'Moscow Never Sleeps.' It isn't long before more electro house songs begin appearing, yet there's still that constantly melody present throughout. Towards the end of his 'Left' CD, Kleinenberg even gets a little techy with the Gui Boratto remix of 'Sin' and just off his new album, the wonderful vocal tune 'Beautiful Life.'

Despite sounding well intended, the intro to 'Right' is a slight bit bizarre and off turning, the acapella of 'Mutual Dependency' and the track 'Jah Rule' are a far sight different to that of any on the first disc and are only saved by the timely arrival of Bushwacka's 'Remember.' Sander takes more time with 'Right,' playing slower and even at times more minimal tracks, with one of my favourites being the Nic Fanciulli remix of 'Tucan.'

The mix stays quite solid, not particularly going anywhere nor dropping, until Quivver's 'Dancing In Dark Rooms,' a more Electro inclined track the vocals offer nothing interesting. 'Game Over' would be one of the most unique electro tunes Sander has offered, with a generic bassline the percussion and riffs form a nice change and help to prepare you for the epic 'Transit Time.' Opting to finish the album off with this minimalistic tune it nicely rounds this disc off as the final vocal sample kicks in.

With so much experience and understanding of his art Sander Kleinenberg has produced a rather nice compilation of electro and house, infused with elements from other genres and sounds. Despite the overall effort, Sander doesn't really build up to anything nor take the mix anywhere new, regardless it's still a solid effort with lots of nice tunes to boast.

My god 'Tucan' is awesome, probably the best track of both discs
