I agree with Extent, your track sounds very uninspired and nothing pleasurable to my ears... Yes, Write the track first.. then produce otherwise it will sound like crap.

Don't say it sounds like crap, that's rude moron

All im saying is that he has potential for sound design, and that he should write the track before producing it.

Thats all, no need for crap - calling.

Yes, I hear it too.

By the way... I will be honest. The track sounds very uninspired.. plain and boring. Nothing i would Spin or Listen to.. The pads get very annyoing after a while, and there is no central structure or melody to it...

Remember that when writing a track you first have to sit down, plan it, get an idea, play it on an instrument, and once you are done writing the song, THEN you go and pass it to the computer and work on it... do not just sit down and play with a program to see what comes out of it... that is why there is so much crap in the EDM world, too many people thinking they are geniuses just cuz they can program a drumloop.

That is one of the reasons i admire Hybrid, BT and Imogen Heap so much, they really know what they are doing.

I am being blunt, but definatley keep it up.

When you say that people should write the track first, play it on an instrument, then go to the computer, what should all the EDM producers out there do if they

a)dont have an instrument and/or dont know how to play one

b)dont know music theory so cant write a track before. They need play as they go and record what they think sounds good

I'm 100% certain that there are many successful well known EDM producers out there who knock out quality tunes and have little or no music theory and can't play an instrument
