While I will agree with you that the line to get in the venue was frustrating (because it was so long), I do believe Cowboys did their best to try to speed up the entry process. They did recognize the waiting line fiasco, and proceeded to open an additional entry way. You cannot expect them to get 2000 people in the front doors in a matter of minutes. There are procedures and precautions (such as checking ID's) that is required by law when hosting an event such as Tiesto. I'm not sure about everyone else on this forum, however, most shows I have been to have waiting lines, and with a venue as large as Cowboys, it is to be expected. If you were so concerned about seeing the opening sets, you should have been better prepared and gotten to the show sooner. I think it is unreasonable to expect Cowboys to cater to you because you feel like you shouldn't have to wait in line like everyone else... oh, and Cowboys cannot control the weather. If you did not want to wait in the rain then go home.
As for the screens, I am unsure why you felt they were unnecessary. They are there to be visually stimulating. I would be disappointed if there were NOT screens on a stage with Tiesto on it. It sounds to me like you had nothing better to do than to show up and to complain. I highly doubt you would have been satisfied regardless of the evenings events. Tiesto was great (much better than last yrs show). I did hear the speakers glitch a time or two, but it was so minor you really didn't notice. No show ever goes 100% perfect, and i think it is ridiculous to expect it to. Yes, candy kids were present, but guess what GET OVER IT! If you don't like them, then you need to start listening to some reggetone.
I go to these shows to have fun and have a great time dancing and listening to the music. I would suggest lightening up and have a better attitude. You will always have a bad time if you go into a situation negatively.
Kudos to the party producers! It was wonderful and I cannot wait until next year! |
I understand there are "rules and regulations" to letting people in and what not. The thing is I was pretty enthusiastic about going, sounded like it was going to be a good time then I end up waiting for almost 2 hours because people who were even more ill prepared than I was got to go in first (and by first I mean over an hour ahead of me). No one likes waiting in rain so that just made it worse. The ropes to "control the lines" didn't go up until around 11pm and the doors opened at 9. Great job there.
Tiesto's set did manage to please me enough to not hate the entire event. I'm not saying he's horrible but I expected a little more from a "big name" DJ after being let down from the venue.
And the screens: yea they were nice had some good visuals. But good music and a good venue > screens and a shitty crowd.

We were part of the bought-ticket-and-had-to-wait group. That was total bullsh*t. And actually, two of us had tickets that were will-call, and when we finally got to the front of the line, they couldn't find our tickets! Not to mention they didn't notice they were VIP so we had to GO BACK and tell them. I also have to agree that Cowboys is nice in design but the staff and organization were extremely subpar. Most of the security people acted like assholes and no one seemed to be completely in reality and knew what was going on. Could've staffed the thing with f*ckin' candy kids and would probably have been better.
Little off-topic here, but does anyone have links to pictures of this show?
Also there was a guy from some site walking around taking pictures of people and telling them what the URL was, but .. we all forgot. Did anyone else encounter this dude and remember the site?

just put it like this. This years show was waaaay better than last year and the 04 show of the same old tiesto tracks being banged out like the "best-of" Tiesto tribute. The opening dj's blew donkey balls, they played 'The Anthem' twice within 30 minutes of eachother. Stupid phukin opening newbies! Got to walk right in (its who you know, not what you know) so I cant complain about waiting in some line like some of you posers that just show up once in a blue moon for a party and dont support the scence like we (I) do. But nevertheless the show was much better then his previous two stops to Cowboys, but not as impressive as his show at the AMH last Labor Day weekend!! And what is the hating on candykids? At least they arent freaking scenesters/julios that just take up space and are there just to be scene. Phukin posers were there and the majority of them were upstairs in VIP, granted I was up there too but that was for other reasons not to be known by you people.
