If you realy are tranceaddicts you should embrace newbies and help em out a bit. Who knows, they may turn out to be the next SVD or PVD. Or just keep on giving all the noobs shit, they will leave, and you can all hang out with your "pro" producer friends. Yes there are tutorials, but if you have a look at em, the list hasnt realy changed at all in the last 3 yrs. That is a sign of a stagnant self consuming community.
If you wanna see how a production community should realy look, go check out dogsonacid.com "the grid". Now I dont even like drum and bass (much) but i think that i may have learnt more from that site than here, simply coz they dont flame noobs (much) and they dont mind answering questions.
BTW are there any other trance related production forums that i should be aware of, coz i have a feeling that alot of people who used to post here have jumped ship. |
I think this forum has slowed down because Trance isn't as popular as it used to be. D&B is probably the in thing right now, well, more so than trance. So that is probably why they have a lot of activity at dogsonacid.com. You could be partly right though, about the unfriendliness towards noobs here. Perhaps that other forum you speak of has very diligent moderators. No shot at the mods here, just could be they run things differently over there. You seem to be free to speak your thoughts here, no matter how nasty or unproductive they be.
KVR has a production forum, but it's not really for discussion, it's for asking questions. Strange the way it's set up, it really encourages new producers to ask elementary questions. That's fine I guess, but it's not what I need.
