My main point was how shockin trance is these days.
I listened to ASOT209 and thought everything that is bad about trance is summed up in two hours.. average tune after average tune. I find everything that Armin is playing at the moment is so boring, even his so called 'big tracks' are bland and basic.
I decided to spend the rest of the day hunting down recent sets and tracks only to be demoralised and put on some of my older mixes and enjoy them much more....

Try looking beyond Armin then.

So far this year has been stronger than last imo, I managed to amass enough tracks I like for 2 mixes so far, when it took me til September to do so last year, me being the picky type that I am.

The original release was actually called "Madagasga". Cygnus X Remix is an absolute classic. Ferry Corsten's "remix" which came almost a year later adds a new bassline to the Cygnus X mix and bugger all else. Sad that this is the version that most people know.

I do... Its been a cracking year for PVD and have enjoyed the majority of his sets/productions.
I suppose i'm just disheartened because I always felt that Armin has been one of the pioneers over the last few years.

Generally I feel this year has been poor.

I honestly don't know how you've managed to compile 2 CD's worth of 'quality' tracks... Good luck though!! ;

nothing, is just a suggestion of a cool remix, anyway the best Art of Trance tune for me is Kaleidoscope (Lens of Atlantic Remix).

...because you're still not digging deep enough.

AvB, PvD, SvD, Ferry and Tiesto will get you no where.

Try looking at some artist names that no one has ever heard before.

Never been a fan of the Ferry Corsten mix, like the original way better.
I think Ferry's bassline kinda kills the whole track/atmosphere.

It's a shame that meny people resort to Armin's ASOT show as their primary source of getting to know the latest trance tracks. It may contain the freshest unreleased stuff around but by no means does it contain quality stuff as most of it is just generic run off the mill boring shite.
