the parade itself is a free event from 11:30am-9pm, though it did cost the organizers hundreds of thousands of dollars to obtain the city permit, so a $5 donation is asked, but not required, of all people who attend
there are also some big after-afterparties and undergrounds that haven't been announced yet

I was looking a while back and you could fly to LA for abour $350US w/ taxes from Buffalo.
And that wasn't even looking that hard, so i'm sure you could find some a bit cheaper.
They over week long parking, for $48US for 7 days.

True.. though if you take the distance into account, it's the same distance from here to SF as from here to Portugal.. when I went our flight was around $550 direct nonstop from Toronto and return had one stop in Chicago. (American Airlines)
If you go take the BART (subway) from the airport straight into downtown.. it's sweet.
