cars depreciate in value pretty quickly. imagine how much your little turbo matchbox will be worth when petrol is $4 a litre...
i still say buy a house. actually, buy a daihatsu charade (1 litre, not 1.3) and THEN buy a house.

petrol is $1 at the moment. When petrol hits $4 (and it will) you would have to be stupid to buy an expensive car, because it would be obsolete when hybrids/electrics become the norm. Meganes/GTI's etc are expensive in Australia and will depreciate hard. Not as bad as a VW Tuareg though (or however you spell it)
