God I love CD's, what an awesome standard. Fuck the day mp3's were ever invented.

I would much rather have 1/10 the music if it was all CD quality sound.

20-30 times 50 GB? That's 1-1.5 TB.
Right now just 3 would be enough for my music collection...

My first CD had to be:

Techno! The New Dance Sound Of Detroit (1988)
http://www.discogs.com/release/65112

The early sounds of first detroit techno wave to be placed on compact disc for the first time ever for a first-ever export to Europe (and we all know what happened next). Seminal compilation ;-) I got it in 1998 at a local store, starting my frantic addition for music collecting ;-) along with Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Moby and Dance Mix '95 CD (it was a big CD buying spree day for me on a sunny summer day in 1998).

Sorry for bragging about my size. I do have to admit that apart from a huge CD collection (originals) I also do have a large MP3 collection. If it wasnt for MP3s, I wouldn't have half of my CDs I have today. I discovered trance through MP3s. In the shithole that I live, its hard to discover good electronic music without MP3s. But most people become so greedy, they dont even buy CDs at all.

No need to apologize, I admire people with big music collection, but only if you're one of those who just copy all the music from someone else's HDD and never listens to 10% of it.
