Beautiful clip mate, well done!

I followed these steps to the letter though, and well.... it doesn't sound at all like your sample

Assuming this is cause your osc's arent just left @ init settings right? Any modulation?

I might have overlooked something. I'll check on it later.
Here's a .mid patch of it. I added an Above & Beyond style bass sound as a bonus.
I'm not sure if it's compatible with the Virus C. It's exported directly from Virus Control.

Sure. I have already made a similar sound with Synth1. I'll see if I can improve it some, it's not exactly as good as the virus one.

Does anyone know how i can re-create that one unique sound (i think its a low pitch virus-ish instrument) from that classic Eurodance song "Sash! - Ecuador"...?

I'm talking about that part in the middle when it goes ECUADOR!! and then there is no kicks, and then this deep, bassy, sort-of arpeggiating melody kicks in (right before the main piano melody comes in).

Here's a sample.

oh every year some soft synth claims it but nobody has proven worth... i think east/west came out with a hip hop sample cd that had a lot of 303 samples on it.

This is a cool thread and all but isn't all the fun of producing in the experimentation?

I've emulated tonnes of tunes over the years and remixed heaps of tracks and I had the most fun just playing with the sounds.

But a handy thread I'm sure anyways :-)

1st rule in making a successful track is to know what a successful track is...

I think it's great practice to go through exercises like this, not least of which it helps people develop their "Ear".

Can anyone make this.. Oh so THAT's what a 303 is!

You get the idea... the next evolution from this could be some form of competition with say 3-4 parts soloed and the challenge is to recreate them all, closest one wins.. Dunno what though.. :-)
