lol you don't listen to the torrent, the torrent is a hash of files that its supposed to download with a torrent client (ie. utorrent, azureus etc..)

A torrent is an incredibly effeciant file codec (far more so then Mp3) for example when 72 minutes of CD codec is 700mb and is about 72mb on 128kbps mp3 you can have 72 minutes of audio with just 60 killerbytes and it has similar quality to cd.
