Cheers guys.... Your replies were a lot more friendlier than I thought and have been great help :-)

Just bought myself the Pee Wee Ferris Peaktime CD on my way back home from town and it's gotten me amped to jump back on again. Taking a break sounds like a great idea. My brain was hurting big time last night, it seemed the longer I went the less I could throw down.

Once again thanks a million!!!

Anytime you lose inspiration listen to some good music, music you love. Ill take a break from making music and then I listen to some really good music and Im hungry again to make music. Also try finding a partner to bounce ideas off of, collaborate. Its like people who go to the gym to workout by themselves, they get half as much done as those who go with a gym partner, even though workingout is a one person task. g'luck

Shit, once in 4 years?

I've got this feeling once every couple of days for the past 3 years. Whatever you think about your last track (I always tend to think everything I produced more than 2 weeks ago is shit), theres almost always something about it that has improved from your last tune. Even if you don't notice it immediately.

You'll bounce back.

seriously though, from the name of the thread I assumed it was asking whether one is planning to give up EDM in general (and listen to rock, jazz etc)

I often spend several hours working on something that comes to nothing. It's not a great feeling. Even worse are the times when you think you're onto something, then take a break and return to find that you really weren't. Still, it makes the times when you do come up with something more rewarding, and it's always nice to have a bit of quality control instead of going along with any old crap.

Very often.
What's really annoying, if when you have an idea in your mind, but you're just unable to turn it into something real, no matter how hard you try

This is why I actually gave up.. I realised I had no talent whatsoever to make music, and spared the world from more horrific sounds.
