btw, the reason it looks so effortless for them and the reason they can blend so many genres like they do is because they use ableton.

Well, I went with my brother, his girlfriend, and another friend who doesn't like dance music. Actually my brother's g/f really liked a few of G+D's radio songs, and went expecting them to play all their big hits , even though I warned her that they would probably play a lot of tech and electro house.

Like others said, G+D was all over the place, I thought they started really strong, with Deep Breath Sedna, but then they'd lose the plot and play real minimal/tech type stuff. I'm not into that genre at all, and of course the other people I was with (who aren't familiar with dance music much as it is) were complaining most of the time, I remember my brother going "what the hell is this?" during "Who's Afraid of Detroit". Jollins set wasn't really to my taste either but he's definitely an extremely talented DJ (and is cool from his TA posts), his mixing was on par and he really knows how to get the crowd going.

Im not hating on G+D but there were so many times throughout the set that they would let a track drag on way to long with just some boring monotone beat before the mixed into the next song....def a buzz kill

jason ruled. g & d, not so much.

Who's Afraid of Detroit is a great track but it had no business being in their set. Like Bryan said, their set was all over the place with no flow what so ever. It was comparable to the worst roller coaster ride ever. They would start to bring you up and then before you knew it you were coming back down prematurely.

I really can't believe I actually paid for that...

I personally loved everything I heard last night. No complaints on any of the music, and I too felt it was one of their better sets I have heard.

I wonder what they used when they first started DJing (how long has Ableton been out?) because I remember they used to be horrible mixers....now of course their mixing is much better because they use Ableton.

I'd rather experience a night of great music then perfect beat matching.
