ok, so i gues i'll be the first person to write something noteworthy here.....

my folks are in the process of getting a divorce as well (only it was my father that moved out). anyway, my mah was worried that he would come back and take stuff without her knowing or whatever. so she changed the locks on both the front door, and the garage door. and also put a note out to some of the neighbors to be on the lookout for a blue saturn (my dad's car).

little different from your situation - but the same things apply....tell the neighbors to look out for this guy, notify local police that patrol the area on a daily basis, etc...
