Burma sounds so much better than Myanmar, those dam dictators have no creativity!

This shit is sad news. Monks are the bestest people on the face of these earth, they dont explode with c4, they dont carry firearms, they just do things peacefully.

Still violence is acted upon them. World is fucked up, and funny thing is, the big brother over there in south east asia, ASEAN, is barely doing anything bout it.

Buddhism is more of a philosophy then it is a religion

No you didnt. You asked me why I posted in the thread.

But knowing you will pursue an arguement of semantics I will answer your question: Its not my country and its not my problem.

"Science may have found a cure for most evils; but it has found no remedy for the worst of them all -- the apathy of human beings."
-Helen Keller

"In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak for me."
-Pastor Martin Niemoller

"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."
-Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Great quotes man. I think some people here take even their apathy for granted. When you lose your freedom don't you kind of lose your right whether to care or not to care?

At least Burma/Myanmar is getting some attention in the news.

These monks peacefully protested against their government, and in turn their government jails them. Lovely that some people don't care

When my country is directly threatened or attacked I will be one of the first to sign up and do somthing about it. Until then I do not regard the human race with enough respect or care, not being worthy of, to pretend my support is somehow going to help them.
