You should just glue that smiley to your face. It'd save you a lot of talking.

I would too feel shit if i tuned in to certain radio shows in search of quality trance each week.

But i'm not tuning in.
I prefer other sources, like friends i know have the same taste in music, parties with djs i know can pull serious music and not cheese vocal pop, and i search internet shops for the stuff i'm looking for.
By doing so i feel much more confident with trance music because i know there are still people out there who represents the real thing.

I would say the net isn't really a place for experiencing trance music and the net never really was such a place either.
The only real places are in the clubs and the real rave parties
(not some fluffy Tiësto consert).
When living in an area were there are alot of underground activity going on there is no doubt that people are still enjoying trance aswell as house, techno and other dance genres just as much.

The net is only the surface of the culture and that's where you see changes firstly and the mostly.

How trance makes me feel depends on the track. I was trying to get back into the epic stuff I was into a few years back but I still gravitate now towards the more melodic progressive house and progressive trance side of things...basically the deeper stuff.

Most tracks I like make me feel like I'm either in some other dimension or reality (the trippier or dreamier or more ethereal stuff) or in some romantic scene in some movie or in real life....like walking on the beach perhaps. So overall..they make me happy and relaxed (the style I am into). Some give me no feeling but detachment...perhaps floating through space or through some void. I'm not one to really go to clubs or, so I tend to think of the music in visceral or literary terms (I often use music as an aid in writing). Most clubs around here don't play the style of music I like anyways.

Doesn't anyone get that urge for tribalism-feeling sometimes?
You just want to burst with energy??
Dark acidic psytrance/techpsy gives me that feeling.

There is no better feeling than smaller outdoor parties with that type of music and a big fire under the nightsky.

I know they said trance, trance makes you feel that way when done right (i.e. not the vocal pop stuff). Trance is music that typically takes you into another world....hence why it's called "trance"..you loose yourself in it.

There's really detached or trippy stuff like in psy trance or more minimal stuff, then there's the more melodic trance which makes you feel like your in a dream or walking along some beach with the sun-setting or rising.

I like trance because to me it is visceral, it puts images in your head, it's not just a thumping beat like in some other dance music...there's a bit more atmosphere and melody. Those images I translate to feelings...they are emotive....almost like a movie.

wicked answer... i'm all there with you

i'm also going to be talking about "rave culture" as a subculture.
That members of this counter-culture differentiate themselves from the dominant "mainstream" culture through music and through going to raves, often enhanced by the use of "euphoric" drugs such as ecstacy - comparing it to the hippies and their use of LSD.

and... i love Armin and Sven Vath

Good trance music will help you empty your mind, not fill it with information!

One question for you all:

In one word, or a short phrase - How does trance make you feel?

be honest... no right or wrong answers here obviously.
I know that different beats make you feel different emotions... but trance in general.
my answer was: disconnected or intangible

Merci

If your ears were eyes it would be the closest thing to seeing God.

I wrote this for my blog about it.Kinda sums it up for me i guess:

When we look at ourselves in the mirror, what do we see?Is it a mere chapel of reality?A throne of soul?Or is it something more?Something etching away deep within the boundaries of space and time.Calling us to a higher state of understanding.A higher plane of reality.

A place where love is the only factor.Where all is one and one is all.A place where your sixty seconds of distance run are all to be cherished at once. For when your ears are your eyes and the key to your very soul. Then we will see a place so dense were it to be captured and analyzed under mathematical scrutiny could only be explained as the heart of humanity.
