Even though I tend to agree with some of the basic ideas Chomsky puts forth, he is at times very guilty of painting things with only the information he wants to put forth. He's a smart guy, and he's smart enough to know that in books and public speaking he has free reign to freely say and publish want he wants to, ignoring other sides of a debate. Many times when he is confronted on this, he simply restates his own data, without much refute to the contrary (or assumes his "incredulous smart guy" routine to those in opposition). Again, I'm not trying to "bash" Chomsky (although I will say I'm not a fan) but just like Fox News and the White House are guilty of only putting forth information to further their own agenda, so is Chomsky. They're simply polar opposites, in my opinion. Unfortunately, those in the middle, who are able to look at things in a fairly unbiased, objective manner, rarely get published or heard simply because they don't have the shock value or controversy that those on the extreme ends of the spectrum do.
Short version; Chomsky says some good things, but realize he paints the picture the way he wants to.

I'de consider Chomsky the fairly unbiased, objective, rarely published (by the mainstream press) guy.

I can use your logic and say that lets say a techno music radio station is being too dam polar and one-sided by not playing any Britney Spears or Eminem, very unfair!!! Politics is no different. Noam Chomsky, just like most political think tanks and political media groups/stations focus on exposing their subjects to their area of interest, agenda, or goals. Yes, Noam Chomsky has an agenda to take over USA and make it a despotic dictatorship with anyone who opposes him thrown in jail, haha. No, he merely opposes the way things are and offers his view of solution to the problems and issues at hand, and thats what people want to hear. We dont want words of O'Reilly coming out of his mouth, though I think you want both at the same time in some sort of mix.
But talking about the other side, in this case, the neo-con agenda and giving them a fair and equal treatment is merely giving the criminals and bastards a break, just like a techno music station trying to be more fair by adding Lil Kim song to the playlist. We dont want that, its logically stupid to do that. People dont want to hear endorsements and acceptance of some neo-con views by Noam Chomsky to make it more fair for people like you, because the next thing you know it will be all over the news and guess how well that will that result in Noam Chomsky ratings. Politics is a cut-throat game, and it cant play by your "fair" rules.
If I support Chomsky's views, I want to listen just to things related to that, and from that perspective. If I find myself bored or looking for more information, I'll turn on Fox News for a bit (yeah, right) and can draw my own conclusions when comparing the two. Its that easy, and thats actually the best way. You cant have a good and reliable source to portray both sides equally in politics, one way or another, you'll be swaying into one political spectrum/agenda or another at some point, confusing the reader/viewer with both conflicting information and with uncertain position on the issue; when you're in school studying about Big Bang theory, how good of an idea is it at the same time add in Creationist Theory for political correctness? How can both be utilized? And the book is only 350 pages, and we dont want 700 pages because to believe in political correctness is, well, naive ... There's a saying - if you stand in the middle of the road, you'll get hit by traffic from both sides ...
