Yes there are many who keep voting for the same dj name becasuse of a favorite pick/following, but to get a number so high as to rank them number 1? Come on, think about it.

first, theres also a metric fuck ton of local and "underground" DJs that have more talent than half that joke of a list. Oscar G, Raplh Falcon, Cedric Gervais(CURRENTLY ONE OF THE MOST BOOKED JOCKS IN THE WORLD)..seriously dude barely has time to play the patio anymore, Edgar V(TAPPED PERSONALLY BY THE CURRENT #1 DJ IN THE WORLD TO TOUR WITH), Acosta (in his shadow days), DJ Craze (ANY STYLE HE PLAYS), Stryke and our own Groove Eric. the formula that talent yeilds popularity does not nessecarily mean youll make it big.. in any industry.

second, how did Oakenfold manage to PACK Space, more than a few WMC events ive been to, then manage to play such an abysmal EM set in ibiza a year ago and somehow end up on the top 20? cause he's got diehard fans who are still caught up in the glory days of yesteryear.

and in the end polls and rankings are an american obsession. we have a poll or ranking for everything. and they dont really mean a thing.

Im not saying they are the best. I dont agree with the polls. But i am saying they have to have talent to make it to get the following to vote for them. And just because you didnt like a certain Oakie set doesnt mean others didnt either. If it is this american poll thing, why dont more vote for the djs you listed? Look i voted for the djs i like, and no they wont be number 1 or two but hopefully they will move up to get more recognition in promotions around the world. If tiesto and PVD and Oakie suck so much they cant have a consistent following to keep them in line for the top 5 positions all the time. They must be doing something right.

dude, apparently you didnt hear the Essential Mix im talking about. he trainwrecks.. i mean TRAINWRECKS nearly half of the transitions.

to be exact is the EM of 8-13-2006. have a listen.. tell me if the man has talent.

nobody I listed made it high on the polls because they're locals who either didnt care pursue the dream of being a hot shot or made it out of being just locals but never superstars. if you dont know who Craze is look him up. hes got 6 DMC world championships under his belt for turntableism, and is possibly the most technically sound DJ on the planet. dude is famous cause of his skills and has actually competed for it. oakey, van dyk and tiestor have countless votes from brainwashed e-tards who dont know much about EDM and didnt do much but play a few records in different orders.

BT is another musical genius, producer, DJ, and not to mention a trance pioneer who does not get the respect he deserves.

thing is i dont htink its fair to say what good and bad music is. Yea i mean we can clearly tell what music has more talent in production than others but as far as it coming down to it, music doesnt need to be complex to be good. Im sure he trainwrecked that mix, i dont have any mixes by oakie so i woudnt but i beleive you - i am not a big fan of his haha. but you got to give some credit in saying something he is doing is working. I mean be it his marketing and promoting staff or his touring to certain cities and countries to gain their support-who knows. But all in all it isnt easy to become a number one or even a top 10. It takes years to be liked outside of yyour own state and even longer to have global recognition. Then with that recognition to get people to vote for you giveen they are only allowed to vote for 4 others. That is some skill to make it to a top 10. Maybe we are missing out on what those voters are seeing to rank those djs so high, but thousands did rank those djs.

well... maybe that's why the americans got caught with the cheating.

but the poll originated from europe.

they should stop this voting crap anyways. CL was well on his way top becoming a top American DJ but maybe he became a little greedy??

i boycotted the poll this year. i see no point in it. they don't change or re arrange the top 5.
